Marcela Quintero

Marcela Quintero is the associate director general, research strategy, and innovation at Alliance of Bioversity International and the International Center for Tropical Agriculture. She leads the implementation of the CGIAR agroecology initiative, a transdisciplinary global research initiative that responds to the needs of food system actors in seven countries while aligning with funders priorities. Marcela is an ecologist from the Universidad Javeriana of Colombia and holds a Ph.D. from the University of Florida.

She was recently named amongst Ghana's 20 under 40 business leaders, and is published with the Oxford Journal of World Energy Law, where she made contributions on global trends in local content regulations in oil and gas. She is passionate about the opportunity to impact policy in the natural resource space, and is an avid blogger and speaker on gender equality and the impact of women in leadership.

Mareen Buschmann is the U.K. and global advocacy lead on women’s economic justice at CARE International UK and provides advocacy/thought leadership on gender-just crisis recovery, caring economies, and the green transition across the CARE confederation. She represents CARE in the UN Economic Justice Action Coalition and ILO Global Coalition for Social Justice.

She is a planner, natural resource manager and researcher with experience working with indigenous communities on land and resource tenure systems and rural community development. Her interest in community land rights began while studying biofuel development in India in 2008 and indigenous land rights struggles internationally.
