Andrew Scott is a research fellow for climate and environment at the Overseas Development Institute. Andrew’s main research interests are energy access for poverty reduction and the role of energy in sustainable livelihoods and in the transition to low-carbon development pathways. His educational background is in economics but has worked across the social sciences.

Andria Thomas is an associate partner at Dalberg. Before joining Dalberg, she worked with the Boston Consulting Group in their Financial Services practice from their Chicago and Helsinki offices, as well as with numerous technology startups. She was also a Peace Corps volunteer in Namibia.

Andris Piebalgs is EU commissioner for development since 2010. A member of the Lead Group of the Scaling-Up Nutrition Movement, the U.N. High-Level Group on Sustainable Energy for All and the U.N. High-Level Panel on Post-2015, he was previously commissioner for energy and occupied several ministerial portfolios in Latvia.

Andy Haines

Andy Haines was the director of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine until October 2010. He currently works at LSHTM as professor of public health and primary care with a joint appointment in the Department of Social and Environmental Health Research and in the Department of Population Health. His research interests are in epidemiology and health services, with a focus on primary care and the study of environmental influences on health. He sits on many national and international committees including, until recently, the WHO Advisory Committee on Health Research. He is also currently chair of the THET Board of Trustees.

Andy Schroeter is co-founder and CEO of Sunlabob Renewable Energy, a Laos-based company that specializes in renewable energy and clean water projects in the developing world. A consultant to the Asian Development Bank, the EU Energy Initiative and other rural development agencies, Schroeter has spent over 15 years working on sustainable development initiatives in remote, off-grid areas throughout Asia, Africa, India and the Pacific islands.

Andy Sumner is professor of international development at King’s College, London, and president of the European Association of Development Research and Training Institutes. He is also a senior fellow at the United Nations University, WIDER, Helsinki, and the Center for Global Development, Washington, D.C. His research focuses on questions of global inequality, economic development, and development cooperation.

Andy White is coordinator of the Rights and Resources Initiative. He also serves as president of the Rights and Resources Group, the nonprofit coordinating mechanism of the RRI Coalition based in Washington, D.C. Prior to co-founding RRI in 2005, Andy served as senior director of programs at Forest Trends and Natural Resource Management Specialist at the World Bank, as well as worked as a consultant to the International Food Policy Institute, Save the Children Federation and the Inter-American Foundation. He has worked extensively in Haiti, Mexico, and China. As coordinator of RRI, he advises policy research, advocacy, and engagement in Asia, Latin America, and Africa and leads initiatives and networks to advance RRI's mission. His research and publications have focused on forest tenure and policy, forest industry and trade, as well as the role of forests, communities, and institutions in climate change.
