Marni Sommer is an associate professor of sociomedical sciences at the Mailman School of Public Health, Columbia University. She leads the gender, adolescent transitions, and environment program. She developed, along with the International Rescue Committee, the “MHM in Emergencies Toolkit” collaborating with UNICEF and global partners on MHM in Ten, a 10-year agenda aimed at transforming schools for menstruating girls and female teachers.

She chairs the AU-NEPAD Africa Medicines Harmonisation Committee for Policy and Legal Reforms.

Martha Holley Newsome is responsible for World Vision International’s Sustainable Health global program group, including food, nutrition, HIV and AIDS, and water, sanitation and hygiene. She has a masters of public health from the Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health and a B.A. from Wheaton College in Illinois. Martha is also a mHealth advocate and has been championing the scale up of digital technology for maternal and child health and nutrition within World Vision and served on the mHealth Alliance board for three years. She currently sits on the mPowering Frontline Health Workers steering committee.
