Ruerd Ruben is professor emeritus on impact assessment in food systems at Wageningen University & Research, The Netherlands. He works on smallholder participation in tropical value chains, the effectiveness of rural organizations, the role of incentives for food system transformation, and the impact of certification for rural poverty reduction.

Rumbi Chakamba

Rumbi Chakamba is a Senior Editor at Devex based in Botswana, who has worked with regional and international publications including News Deeply, The Zambezian, Outriders Network, and Global Sisters Report. She holds a bachelor's degree in international relations from the University of South Africa.
Rupert Scofield

Rupert Scofield

An agricultural economist with 40 years of experience in developing countries, Rupert Scofield co-founded FINCA in 1984 with John Hatch, and has served as its president and CEO since 1994. He is president and CEO of FINCA Microfinance Holding Company LLC, an investment partnership for microfinance. He is the author of "The Social Entrepreneur’s Handbook: How to Start, Build and Run a Business that Improves the World."
Rupert Simons

Rupert Simons

Rupert Simons joined Publish What You Fund as CEO in January 2015. He is responsible for strategy and overall management of the organization, and reports to the Chair and the Board of Trustees. He previously worked for the Tony Blair Africa Governance Initiative, where he was a country head. He has worked with Liberia's President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf to improve the management of her priority projects, helped set up the Ethiopian Agricultural Transformation Agency and a Situation Room for Sierra Leone's National Ebola Response Center.

Russell Hargrave is a freelance journalist and political consultant, with a special interest in development, migration, and finance. As well as Devex, he writes regularly for Public Finance, the Church Times, and politics.co.uk. He is the author of "Drawbridge Britain," a book about immigration since World War II, and advises the Liberal Democrats on refugee policy.

Ruth Ayarza

Ruth Ayarza works at the International HIV/AIDS Alliance as regional manager for Latin America and the Caribbean. She has worked in international development for 16 years with a focus on sexual and reproductive health, HIV, gender equity and disability. Previously, she was a manager for Latin America with Deaf Child Worldwide and an advocacy officer for Kimirina, a nonprofit based in Ecuador.

In her current role, she works closely with the country’s education ministry to increase the quality of education for young children, with a focus on teacher training for learner-centered methods, developing low-cost teaching resources and supporting the improvement of education leadership at all levels.
