Safia Gulamani is a manager on the member engagement team at Convergence. Prior to Convergence, Safia was a consultant at Arabella Advisors in the firm's Washington, D.C., and New York offices. At Arabella, Safia specialized in impact investing and worked with a range of clients including institutional, family, and corporate foundations to provide education on impact investing, source and structure deals, and conduct due diligence.

Safina Nabi is an independent multimedia journalist from South Asia based in Kashmir. She covers human rights, social justice, gender, health, and environment. She has contributed to Al Jazeera, Christian Science Monitor, The Guardian, Slate, and openDemocracy among others.
Safiqul Islam

Safiqul Islam

Safiqul Islam was director of BRAC's education program for 34 years, stepping down in 2021. He led numerous innovations in this role, with many scaled up beyond Bangladesh. He was also a coordinator in BRAC’s monitoring department and a senior research economist in the research division. He was seconded to UNICEF Pakistan and to the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency for education efforts. Before joining BRAC, Islam worked at the Centre on Integrated Rural Development for Asia and the Pacific. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.

Prior to taking on this global role, she was the organization's Iraq gender program manager based in Baghdad, and also worked for Counterpart International out of Kabul. Alnouri was a member of Mercy Corps' emergency response team during the 2009 crisis in Gaza and the Arab Spring assessment team in Egypt in early 2011.
