Sameer Sampat

Sameer Sampat

Sameer Sampat is a co-founder of Global School Leaders (GSL), an organization that works to incubate, connect and support organizations that train school leaders to improve the learning of students from under-served communities around the world. Prior to GSL, Sameer was the India School Leadership Institute’s first CEO. He also worked as a project manager and research analyst with the Education Innovation Laboratory at Harvard University where he designed, implemented, and evaluated interventions to close the racial achievement gap found in the United States.

Samhir Vasdev is a program and partner manager for the Global Impact Partnerships team at Facebook, where he supports the company’s efforts to advance the SDGs through the responsible use of data. Prior to joining Facebook, Samhir managed the data and digital development portfolio at IREX, a global development NGO, and supported citizen-driven policymaking with the World Bank’s Digital Development and Innovation Lab teams.

Dr. Samuel Kargbo is the director of health systems, policy, planning and information in the Ministry of Health and Sanitation of Sierra Leone. His present responsibility is to oversee the planning, monitoring and implementation of the post Ebola recovery strategy and building of a resilient health system. He is a 2015 Aspen Institute New Voices Fellow.

Samuel Lando focuses on issues of poverty, inequality and governance in his research for the Development Policy Management Forum, a pan-African NGO that carries out applied research on development policy and development management in eastern Africa and beyond. Samuel began to freelance for Devex in July 2008. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the University of London’s Queen Mary College and a bachelor’s in economics from the University of the Witwatersrand.

Samuel Munzele Maimbo is the vice president for budget, performance review and strategic planning at the World Bank in Washington D.C., currently on special leave of absence while a candidate for the African Development Bank presidency. Previously, he served as the chief of staff to World Bank Presidents David Malpass and Ajay Banga, as well as senior adviser to two World Bank Group chief financial officers.

Samy Ahmar is head of global health at Save the Children. He and his team work with governments, multilateral organizations, academic institutions, and the private sector to design and evaluate impactful and sustainable health programs, carry out rigorous research, and use findings to advocate for equitable access to health services and health rights. He has dedicated the last 10 years to shifting both discourse and policy on major global health issues that affect children, including childhood pneumonia and diarrhea, improved care for premature and low birth-weight babies, immunization, community health systems, and the global health architecture.
