Shamini Darshni Kaliemuthu

Shamini Darshni Kaliemuthu is the executive director of the Asian Forum for Human Rights and Development. She began her career as a journalist in Malaysia. After several stints in communications, she took on the role of executive director of Amnesty International Malaysia in 2013. In March 2020, she joined the Asian Forum for Human Rights and Development in Bangkok, Thailand. She is a Chevening scholar and graduated with a MSc International Politics from the School of African and Oriental Studies, London.

Shana Montesol Johnson

Shana Montesol Johnson is a certified executive and career coach who works with international development professionals who want careers they love, that make an impact, and allow them to have a life outside of work. She has coached clients working for such organizations as the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, the World Health Organization, U.S. Agency for International Development, Peace Corps, and the Millennium Challenge Corp., among others. Born in the United States and raised in Mexico, Shana has been based in Manila, Philippines since 2004. She also blogs at www.developmentcrossroads.com.

Shang-Jin Wei is a member of the Finance for Development Lab Steering Committee. He is professor of Chinese business and economy, professor of finance and economics Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business, and a professor at the university’s School of International and Public Affairs. He was also chief economist and director general of the economic research and regional cooperation department at the Asian Development Bank from 2014 to 2016.

Shani Winterstein is the director for capacity strengthening and training at the Global Health Advocacy Incubator, or GHAI. She works across the GHAI portfolio and on tobacco control in Africa in collaboration with our local partners to assess their needs and strengths; develop advocacy capacity strengthening plans, training, and skills enhancement activities; conceptualize strategic advocacy campaign plans; and monitor progress. Shani has over 20 years of experience in the international development sector focused heavily on issues of community engagement, public participation, and governance.
Shannon Alexander

Shannon Alexander

Shannon Alexander is a senior director of strategic initiatives at Mercy Corps, where she leads the agency's global resilience initiative. Shannon is responsible for Mercy Corps' integration of resilience thinking across its technical sectors and establishing regional hubs to put theory into practice for on-the-ground impact.She combines her private sector experience working in the U.S. and Europe, with 20 years of experience in the development field. She started her development career in Romania, where she was chief of party for a business development program.

Shannon Hader is currently the deputy executive director of programs at UNAIDS and assistant secretary-general of the United Nations. She’s trained in pediatrics, internal medicine, and infectious diseases. She has more than 20 years of international experience in global health and has worked in a variety of roles in the HIV fight across the world. She has a strong focus on delivering results for people, promoting investments in community-led responses, and driving innovation and change.

Shannon Kindornay is a development cooperation researcher at the North-South Institute, Canada’s leading international development think tank. Established in 1976, NSI conducts research on Canada’s relations with developing countries and on a wide range of foreign policy issues.

Shannon Kowalski

Shannon Kowalski oversees the International Women's Health Coalition’s work on international and U.S. foreign policy advocacy. She is an experienced and effective advocate for sexual and reproductive rights and health, is very familiar with U.N. negotiations, and is an expert on HIV and AIDS, the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria, and programs to advance youth sexual and reproductive health. Prior to IWHC, Shannon was director of the Global Health Financing Initiative of the Open Society Foundations.

Dr. Shannon May is the co-founder of Bridge International Academies, the largest network of technology enabled nursery and primary schools in Africa and India. Dr. May serves as the CSO. Bridge partners with partners with governments, communities, teachers, and parents to deliver transformational education in impoverished communities. Bridge’s academic results are impressive, with students outperforming their peers in national tests and exams across multiple years and countries. Dr. May is a fluent Mandarin speaker. She previously taught in China and the U.S. as well as serving as an advisor to international organizations on design and development.
Shannon Maynard

Shannon Maynard

With more than 15 years of experience in nonprofit management and volunteer mobilization, Shannon Maynard joined Grameen Foundation in February 2009 as the director of Bankers without Borders. She previously served as the executive director of the U.S. President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation and managed strategic initiatives for the Corporation for National and Community Service, a federal agency. Her work has been featured in the Stanford Social Innovation Review, Nonprofit Quarterly, and the Chronicle of Philanthropy. Shannon is a former AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer.
