Sylvia Chant

Sylvia Chant is professor of development geography at the London School of Economics and Political Science, U.K. where she is director of the MSc in Urbanization and Development. Elected as a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts in 2011, Prof. Chant has conducted research in Mexico, Costa Rica, Philippines and The Gambia. Her main interests are in gender and poverty, urban labor markets, rural-migration, and female-headed households, on which she has authored, edited or co-edited nearly 20 books.

Sylvia Khamati

Sylvia Khamati has over 10 years of experience in planning and management of public health programs. Currently she is the head of health and social service at the Kenya Red Cross Society, charged with providing overall technical oversight and supporting the organization in the area of public health, gender and diversity and nutrition. Before joining the Kenya Red Cross Society, she worked with the International Federation of the Red Cross/Red Crescent in Nairobi as a senior program officer where she provided technical support to 14 countries in East Africa, Horn of Africa and Indian Ocean Islands in humanitarian and developmental work.

Tabitha Mann

Tabitha Mann is a resiliency specialist with The KonTerra Group. As a social worker with the U.S. Peace Corps, she provided training and clinical support to humanitarian aid workers in the field. Tabitha’s primary training and work experience has been in trauma management. She has helped survivors of torture, rape, domestic violence and other severe traumas to re-engage with their environments in healthy and productive ways.

Tachawet Salilih Zeleke 

As a midwife and nurse, Tachawet Salilih has worked as a clinical care provider, lecturer, midwife adviser, master trainer, program and project manager within her home country of Ethiopia. She has an advanced diploma in midwifery, bachelor of sciences in nursing, and a master’s in sociology. Tachawet has extensive working experience in pre-service education program improvement, programs strengthening midwives’ and nurses’ competencies, and writing technical documents.
