Therese Ballard is the director of the Sustainable Procurement Practice Group at UNOPS headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark. She has extensive experience as a senior manager, adviser and change strategist, with over 35 years of experience including time at the World Bank, International Monetary Fund and in the private sector in the procurement, purchasing and supply chain fields.

Therese Mahon is WaterAid’s regional programs manager for South Asia and global lead for menstrual health. She supports country programs to deliver comprehensive and inclusive menstrual health and hygiene programming, to demonstrate cross-sectoral approaches and address neglected issues such as menstrual hygiene and disability.
Thessali Farr

Thessali Farr

Thessali Farr joined the team at Water4 in 2021. She holds a master’s degree in international relations with a focus on global security from the University of Oklahoma and a bachelor’s degree in journalism with a minor in political science from Oklahoma Christian University. Additionally, she attained certificates in international relations from American University, nuclear security policy from George Washington University, and international law from the Hague Academy of International Law. Thessali spent six years in the political field in Oklahoma, working as a legislative bill tracker providing political intelligence and then was elected to the Oklahoma House of Representatives, serving eastern Oklahoma County.

Thierry van Bastelaer is principal associate and economist at Abt Associates. He serves as co-director of Abt’s Risk and Resilience Methods Center, as health finance advisor on the Strengthening Health Outcomes through the Private Sector project, and as chair of Abt’s Health Finance and Economics Technical Working Group. van Bastelaer is also adjunct professor at American University, teaching two microfinance courses. Prior to joining Abt, van Bastelaer was senior director of Livelihoods Innovations at the Save the Children Federation.
