He first joined the organization 24 years ago and has worked in numerous roles including head of partnerships and director of international programs, leading Islamic Relief’s response to major global crises including famines, earthquakes, floods, and conflicts. He has worked in countries including Pakistan, Sudan, and Malawi, and has also worked for organizations including Oxfam and Tearfund, and is a trustee of the International Civil Society Centre.

Wayne L. Firestone is the CEO of International Lifeline Fund, a Washington, D.C.-​based NGO that promotes deep community engagement in bottom-of-the-pyramid countries by implementing low​-​cost and highly replicable interventions. Firestone is a Georgetown-​educated international lawyer, Kogod entrepreneur fellow at American University Business School​ and member of the Washington Chapter of the Society for International Development.

Wellington Chibebe

Wellington Chibebe was elected deputy general secretary of the International Trade Union Confederation in 2011. Prior to taking up that position, he served as secretary general of the Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions. He joined the ZCTU in 2001 having previously served as president of the national Railway Workers’ Union, which he joined in 1988 after serving his apprenticeship as a diesel plant fitter. Wellington represented Zimbabwe’s trade union movement on numerous occasions at the annual International Labor Conference and various other major international meetings.

Wendyam Micheline Kaboré is a committed human rights activist and feminist dedicated to an egalitarian world that respects the rights of women and girls. Passionate about gender and development studies, she is convinced that the development and well-being of women and girls depends on their empowerment, their resilience and active leadership. Interested in gender relations in sub-Saharan Africa and their impact on the lives of millions of women and girls, Kaboré assumes the leadership of Initiative Pananetugri pour le Bien-être de la Femme since January 2020.
