Cynthia Schneider

Cynthia P. Schneider, distinguished professor in the practice of diplomacy at Georgetown University, teaches, publishes, and organizes initiatives in the field of cultural diplomacy. Ambassador Schneider co-directs the Laboratory for Global Performance and Politics at Georgetown, as well as the Los Angeles-based MOST Resource (Muslims on Screen and Television). Additionally, she co-directs the Timbuktu Renaissance, an innovative, culture-focused platform for countering extremism and promoting peace and development, which grew out of her work leading the Arts and Culture Dialogue Initiative at the Brookings Institution.

Cynthia Smith, a seasoned advocate with over 25 years of global development policy and program leadership experience, is the senior director of global initiatives for Humentum. In addition to leading the participatory design, implementation, and evaluation of development programs across the Americas and Southeast Asia, Cynthia has mobilized civil society advocacy with the Organization of American States, Association of Southeast Asian Nations, Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, global development policy fora, U.S. Congress, and U.S. executive branch agencies. She has expertise in organizational governance, compliance, risk, and accountability; participatory processes; access to justice; and network and coalition building.

Dagfinn Høybråten is board chair of Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance. He is secretary-general of the Nordic Council of Ministers and previously served as vice president of the Norwegian Parliament and minister of health. A member of the Gavi board since 2006, his active involvement means he is very familiar with Gavi's mission and the important role the Vaccine Alliance plays in saving lives and improving health for millions of people in low-income countries.

In this role she manages the organization's U.S.-based natural resource rights advocacy, focused on the nexus of human rights, inclusive development and environmental and economic justice. She also served as advocacy coordinator and policy associate.

Dakota Gruener is executive director of the ID2020 Alliance, a nonprofit organization focused on improving lives through digital identity. At ID2020, Dakota leads overall strategy, builds critical partnerships with public and private sector stakeholders, and continually focuses the organization on an ethics-first approach. She launched the ID2020 Alliance following her work at Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, where she served as an aide-de-camp to the CEO.
