Belarus to Secure IMF Aid


that the International Monetary Fund intends to release some USD2.5 billion to assist Belarus in dealing with the global economic slowdown. The 15-month standby facility is expected to be approved by the fund's executive board this month. Of the sum, USD800 million will be immediately made available to the former Soviet country.
