The World Food Program plans to prune food rations to some half a million Zambians due to funding shortage. βIn March or April we will be forced to stop distributing food to some of the most disadvantaged people in Zambia β such as orphans and patients undergoing treatment for AIDS,β WFP Zambia Country Director David Stephenson said. The agency requires $29 million to finance its relief efforts this year and without the amount, the agency expects to implement major cuts to its operations.
