As with Benin, Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing pledged debt relief and aid to Equatorial Guinea, the latest stop in his seven-African-nation tour. The minister forgave $75 million in debt owed to Beijing by the West African country. He also made an aid commitment worth $2.5 million. After Benin and Equatorial Guinea, Li is set to visit Guinea-Bissau, Chad, the Central African Republic, Eritrea and Botswana.
