Clinton Foundation Lists AusAID as Among its Biggest Donors
By Newswire Newsletter // 22 December 2008
AusAID figured in the second tier of donors that contributed between USD5 million and USD25 million to the Clinton Foundation, as per the list issued by former U.S. President Bill Clinton. This makes the Australian agency one of the charity’s biggest donors, along with billionaires Bill Gates and Steve Bing. In February 2006, former Australian Foreign Minister Alexander Downer committed AUD25 million over four years to the foundation’s HIV/AIDS program benefiting Papua New Guinea, Vietnam and China.
