From the onset of the outbreak of a mysterious disease in the city of Wuhan, Hubei province, China, in late 2019, Devex began documenting the key moments of what would soon become the global COVID-19 pandemic. The World Health Organization declared the outbreak a public health emergency of international concern on Jan. 30, 2020, and characterized it as a pandemic on March 11 of that year.
Today, WHO maintains the pandemic remains a global health emergency of concern. But most countries have now eased COVID-19 restrictions.

She was a finalist for One World Media's Digital Media Award in 2021; a finalist for the Livingston Award for Young Journalists in 2018; and she was part of a VICE News Tonight on HBO team that received an Emmy nomination in 2018. She received the Philip Greer Memorial Award from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism in 2014.
