    Today we take you to Brussels, where the European Commission is working to launch an infrastructure investment plan to rival Beijing’s famous Belt and Road initiative. But questions abound: Is it real? Is it new? And is it what low-income countries want and need?

    Also in today’s edition: Eliminating hepatitis C comes with a price tag, and WHO’s historic new regional chief.

    First though, UNRWA, the United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees, said in a situation update Wednesday that it urgently needs fuel if it is to continue its humanitarian work in Gaza, which is under Israeli bombardment.
