    Powerful women commanded the stage at the World Bank-International Monetary Fund Spring Meetings and its sideline summits last week. All the big names were there: Samantha Power, Melinda French Gates, Mia Mottley, Kristalina Georgieva, Christine Lagarde, and many more. They talked of empowerment and equity and investment.

    In a world racked with crises, war, and authoritarian regimes, the U.S. government tends to focus attention on problem areas, USAID Administrator Samantha Power told a panel last week.
