Donors Help Laos Protect Natural Resources

International donors will help Laos protect its natural resources from commercial development, according to the

. The regional lender will grant USD20 million for the initiative while the International Fund for Agricultural Development will disburse a further USD15 million. Some USD700,000 in technical assistance from the Japanese government will also be made available for the project, which aims to boost the natural resource management capacity of oversight agencies as well as help the government promote rural livelihood opportunities.
