Laborers in Dubai, on strike for the last five days, will return to work tomorrow, an employee of Pauling Middle East Co. LLC said. “All the workers are back. We started sending buses last night and today,” Pradeep Singh, transport foreman at Pauling said in an interview in Dubai Oct. 31. “The workers will resume working from tomorrow.” Around 4,000 workers were arrested over the weekend after violent demonstrations Oct. 27. Those arrested were given the choice of either going back to work or returning to their home countries, while 40 will be prosecuted, said Khalfan. As many as 200 workers will be deported. (Bloomberg)
