EIB Expands Lending Coverage

The European Investment Bank has launched a new lending facility that will expand the geographical coverage of its operation, the

reports. Under the new facility, the bank will course funds through other financial institutions to support small and medium-sized businesses in Central and Eastern Europe. It hopes to conclude the facility's first loan by the end of 2009, said EIB President Philippe Maystadt.
