The Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation (EEPCo) has laid out plans to build 10 hydro-power plants over the next 10 years, an enterprise that is expected to cost more than USD13.1 billion. EEPCo needs USD1.57 billion for the projects, and has already sought loans totaling USD1.01 billion from the African Development Bank and the European Investment Bank. The Ethiopian firm also hopes that the Italian government would pitch in least USD315.5 million to fill the shortfall. (Source: Ethiopia - EEPCo plans USD13.1 bln power plants/Nazret.com)
