EU Earmarks Food Aid to Philippines

The European Commission is granting 6.4 million euros ($9.09 million) to boost food security in the Philippines' southern Mindanao region,

reported. The World Food Program will manage the grant, which was drawn from the bloc's 1 billion-euro food facility. The sum will back food-for-assets projects, which provide food in exchange for work or attendance in training courses, according to the commission.
