The European Union is providing 14 million euros (USD19 million) to help the Palestinian Authority pay the salaries and pensions of its civil employees in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. This is the EU’s eight contribution to program.
The contribution is funded by the European Commission 2010 support package for Pakistan and 50 million Swedish kroner contribution from Sweden. It will be channeled through PEGASE, the EU’s assistance mechanism for the Palestinian territories.
