Nicaragua will benefit from the latest USD4 million grant from the Food and Agriculture Organization. The money will be used to restore bean production and revive the fishing industry in the country’s Autonomous Region of the North Atlantic or RAAN, whose economy suffered in the wake of hurricane Felix that struck it in September last year. Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega is hoping to raise nearly USD400 million to rehabilitate RAAN.
