France will donate an additional USD5.4 million to assist conflict victims in the eastern region of the Democratic Republic of Congo. The funding “will be released quickly in order to enable World Food Programme stocks to be built up again in the region,” a French foreign ministry spokesman said. The latest contribution tops the USD4.2 million previously allotted by France to WFP and French aid organizations.
