The British government will release another GBP1.8 million (USD2.7 million) for vulnerable groups including children and elders in war-torn Gaza, International Development Secretary Douglas Alexander
. The sum will boost the operations of four aid agencies – Islamic Relief, Welfare Association, Action Against Hunger and Handicap International – to address immediate humanitarian needs in the Palestinian territory. The funding is part of U.K.’s GBP27 million humanitarian support package, of which GBP14 million has already been disbursed.
