The Gulf Cooperation Council has donated anew to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees for a program that seeks to repair emergency shelters in the Gaza Strip.
The latest contribution amounts to USD6.1 million. It was formalized in a recent agreement between UNRWA and the Islamic Development Bank, which serves as coordinator for the Program of the Gulf Cooperation Council for the Reconstruction of Gaza.
A similar accord was subscribed to in July 2010 for the sum of USD6.5 million. The money was used to repair 852 houses.
