Kristalina Georgieva is the new European commissioner for international cooperation, humanitarian aid and crisis response. She was confirmed on Tuesday by the European Union parliament along with incumbent European Commission President José Manuel Barroso and 26 new commissioners.

Georgieva, a World Bank vice president and corporate secretary, replaced Rumiana Jeleva as Bulgaria’s nominee for aid commissioner. Jeleva dropped from the race following criticism on her suitability and financial affairs.

The parliament also approved Connie Hedegaard for climate action, Andris Piebalgs for development, Stefan Fule for enlargement and European neighborhood policy and Janez Potocnik for environment. Outgoing aid commissioner Karel De Gucht was approved as trade commissioner.

Baroness Catherine Ashton was officially named high representative of the union for foreign affairs and security, a new position created under the Lisbon Treaty. Ashton will also serve as one of the EC’s vice presidents.

Here is a list of all new EU commissioners.
