The World Bank is lending USD38 million to help improve the management of Ghana’s oil sector. The project aims to strengthen the Ministry of Energy and the soon-to-be-established petroleum regulatory body in managing and monitoring Ghana’s oil sector.

The project also seeks to support the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology to enhance petroleum engineering and petrochemical engineering teaching and research capabilities. It will also back vocational training institutions focused on technical skills development for the oil and gas industry.
