In April 2008, Grameen Bank of Bangladesh opened its first branch in the developed world. Its new office in Queens, New York, not only serves as a great opportunity for poor U.S. residents to benefit from microloans, but it also gives developing countries an opportunity to benefit from research conducted by Grameen America on health care delivery, says Grameen Health Project Manager Shadab Mahmud.
