Primary health concerns in Haiti have shifted from emergency care for trauma patients to post-surgery health care and basic health care, including maternal and child care, rehabiliation services and treament for chronic diseases. The Pan American Health Organization and the World Health Organization noted in a report that sanitation is among the top concerns in temporary camps around Port-au-Prince. Other issues include psychological and social needs of earthquake survivors, acute malnutrition and child protection.
