Honduras has secured USD135 million in loan from the Inter-American Development Bank to fund its efforts to modernize Puerto Cortes, dubbed as Central America’s biggest port. The money will be used to create a space for a new container terminal and future port expansion by dredging the port basin and slips and using the dredged material to reclaim land from the sea.
