Indonesia faces a significant challenge with widespread violence against children. Between January and November 2023 alone, some 15,000 cases were recorded with girls disproportionately affected.
But in the face of this crisis, a new wave of young voices is rising up. Organizations such as ChildFund International are providing platforms for youth to raise their concerns and propose solutions. One such initiative is the Youth Voice Now group.
“In my opinion, organizations should provide space for children to speak about their problems without fear. They should involve us in decision-making processes to create positive change for us,” said one activist who is part of the group.
