The Inter-American Development Bank has opened an account that will host up to USD100 million in contributions from the Union of South American Nations to support Haiti’s post-quake reconstruction. IDB announced the approval of the account, which will provide budget support to the Haitian government upon its request, by its board of executive directors April 15. UNASUR comprises Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay and Venezuela.
