Peru’s plant and animal health service agency will implement a USD305 million agriculture investment program with the help of the Inter-American Development Bank. The regional lender will provide a 15-year, USD175 million credit, USD25 million of which will be disbursed initially to improve SENASA’s services. The rest will be contributed by the Peruvian government. The program will also help wipe out pests and diseases, which imperil farm output.
