The Inter-American Development Bank and Global Network for Neglected Tropical Diseases will mobilize about USD30 million to combat neglected tropical diseases in Latin America and the Caribbean. The new financing will be used to control and eventually wipe out such illnesses in the region by improving public health services and raising awareness. Through the fresh financing, the Pan American Health Organization and World Health Organization's regional office for the Americas will provide technical support for measures against NTDs.
