    Ukraine may receive as much as USD2.8 billion for the next tranche of its loan from the International Monetary Fund. According to

    , the IMF mission in Ukraine is recommending that the second installment of a USD16.4 billion loan be released in mid-May. "Half of the tranche may be spent to cover Ukraine's budget deficit," said Prime Minister Yulia Timoshenko. A portion of the funding will also be used to pay the country's external debts, she added.
