The Education for All Fast Track Initiative (EFA FTI) announced a new USD 233 million grant to support primary education in some African countries with "sound and credible national education strategies" the World Bank said. The aid, which comes from a multilateral fund fed by 17 donor countries, will be granted to low-income countries such as Burkina Faso, Central African Republic, Gambia, East Timor and Zambia to boost their investments in the education sector, according to the EFA FTI Annual Report 2008, which was published Monday in Oslo, Norway.
