To promote greater cooperation among international donors, a joint panel involving representatives of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund is preparing to review the development aid plan for Africa. The move has come about with the emergence of middle-income countries and private groups as new donors. The joint panel’s Development Committee will reevaluate the African action plan collected by the World Bank in 2005 – this time to focus on such issues as women empowerment, agricultural productivity improvement, and clean energy access.
