India is due to receive USD100 million for its campaign to curb the spread of AIDS in the country. “These funds will be used to provide antiretroviral treatment, voluntary testing and to tackle stigma (against HIV),” Michel Kazatchkine, who leads the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, told reporters in New Delhi. The organization promised another USD53 million to support anti-malaria programs in India over the next three years. Since 2003, the Global Fund has provided USD747 million to the Asian nation.
