Pranav Kamble’s problems go back to before he was born. A low-birth-weight baby, by 14 months old, Pranav has been hospitalized more than 10 times.
“He weighed less than 2,500 grams during birth,” says health care worker Shubhangi Kamble — not related — who has been monitoring his health. That’s less than a pumpkin.
Since he fell ill so frequently, Kamble investigated more to find out what led to this. Through her detailed handwritten records, she found that Pranav’s mother, Ashwini, 31, was malnourished during her pregnancy, which led to his poor health.
