    Italy has given USD1 million to support a UNESCO program in Afghanistan to improve teacher training focusing on educational radio and television. Strengthening the capacity of teachers in using audio-visual media is one of the key priorities under Afghanistan's five-year National Education Strategic Plan (2006-2010).
