The Japanese government pledged USD3 million to help southwest Tajik communities deal with floods and other disasters. Flood-prone communities in the districts of Farkhor, Hamadoni, Vose, Pyandzh, and Shuroabad will benefit from the grant, which will be used to rehabilitate selected forest ecosystems and strengthen riverbanks.
