Korea will chair the 2011 meeting of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development’s board of governors, the country’s Ministry of Strategy and Finance said. This is the first time that a non-European country will chair the annual governors’ meeting, a ministry official noted.
EBRD’s board of governors is scheduled to convene in Croatia May 14-15 for their 2010 meeting. Korea’s chairmanship of the annual event will begin at the end of the Croatia summit, Chosun Ilbo says.
