    The African Union Commission, African Development Bank and United Nations Economic Commission for Africa have launched their joint secretariat support office in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

    The creation of the office culminates efforts by the three organizations to strengthen their cooperation in view of the pressing global challenges facing Africa, including climate change and an increased need for infrastructure to boost regional integration and trade among countries in the region, AU Commission noted in a May 10 news release.

    The secretariat aims to assist the heads of the AU Commission, AfDB and UNECA in harmonizing their common stances on global issues and developing a common African policy position toward the donor community.
