The United States has given more than USD36 million to the Liberian government to help it combat malaria. According to U.S. Agency for International Development acting country director Lucretia Taylor, Washington will disburse the funds in installments worth USD12.5 million over the next three years. “Our commitment to helping Liberia tackles malaria and other issues in the health sector are strong and comprehensive,” Taylor said. “The goal also includes application of effective drugs acts, reaching rural clinics, replacing failing treatments, long lasting insecticide treated beds nets, and reaching the most vulnerable pregnant women and children,” she added.
