Increasingly MFIs are demonstrating the need to adhere to transparency in pricing their loans as part of responsibility to their clients. The high demand for microfinance services creates a huge gap between demand and supply and that makes the industry in most countries a sellers market. This potentially is dangerous as clients are exploited by high expensive interests that ridicules microfinance as 'money lenders'. I applaud the many MFIs that have agreed to publish their APR to the public. Transparency will not only augur well with clients but also exhibit the fairness of the financial institution to its clients as well as endear to the public.
