Senior officials from Arab countries met with Greek authorities for the third Greek-Arab Economic Forum, which focused on promoting commercial and economic cooperation between Greece and the Arab community. At the sidelines of the forum, Greek Deputy Foreign Minister Spyros Kouvelis met with Libya’s public works secretary in preparations for a joint interministerial committee meeting to be held in Tripoli in October. The Greek foreign minister also had a dialogue with Egypt’s deputy trade and industry minister in a bid to strengthen the two countries’ energy, investment and transport cooperation. Kouvelis also had meetings with Syria’s electricity minister and the United Arab Emirates’ economy minister.
