    At present, Japan has yet to determine how it will fund the $10 billion aid increase that Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi pledged during the recently concluded G8 summit. Finance Minister Sadakazu Tanigaki told journalists in Tokyo that the government still does not know "what mix of funds will be used." But what is certain, according to him, is that the county "will continue to ensure that aid is used in an efficient manner and is not wasted."
